As a planner, it is good to see an economist not blame us for once! The system is fundamentally flawed because housing is treated as an asset and not as a fundamental human right. We aren't seeing other opportunities for fixing the housing crisis because governments don't want to upset their developer 'mates' by changing the status quo.
